Hi, we are Dave and Rosie and over Summer 2022 we sailed around the UK coastline on our Etap 26i yacht Ventus. 

Having sailed from May 2022 until September 2022, the strong September winds stalled our passage and thwarted our plans to complete the full circumnavigation. We decided to  lift Ventus out of the water and store her for the winter in Milford Haven.

Following a visit to the Southampton Boat show on the way home to buy a new dinghy, a fortuitous (or expensive depending on the way you look at it!) conversation led to a series of events and us deciding to purchase a bigger yacht with the intention of living on it for part of the year in the South West near to the Devon based branch of our family!

We sold Ventus via the Boat-shed dealership in Milford Haven and are now proud owners of SERENDIPITY                    (formally known as Goldfinch).

Serendipity is a Beneteau Oceanis 36CC.  Considerably bigger than our lovely Ventus, and more of a live aboard boat.  Dave has been working hard all winter to get it ship shape from an engine perspective, and we have both done a fair amount of scrubbing!  The Teak decking is beautiful, but needs some renovation - that may be a job for later in the year, otherwise she's in great condition.

Our maiden voyage was from Fox's Marina in Ipswich back to our original Home port of Gillingham in November 2022. 

The plan is to complete the circumnavigation over Summer 2023, but setting off in a clockwise direction this time to complete the journey back to Lundy. Watch this space.....
